"Cornered Dimensions" Welding Sculpture
In my Sculpture 1 class at Binghamton University, our first assignment was to create a welding sculpture out of steel rod. We were to use a three-dimensional shape, and use it 3 times to create a unique sculpture. I chose a triangular prism, distorting it in different angles and sizes. The sculpture was made out of three 10 foot steel rods, which were measured, cut, and welded based on a premade miniature wood model. After welding, I used a metal grinder to clean edges and corners. The sculpture was finished off with a coat of black spray paint.
