Martin Luther King Mural
In my third year at Dumont High School, I was asked my AP US History teacher to paint a mural for his classroom. As the President of the Art Honor Society and student of his class, my teacher selected me as fit for the project. I worked alongside with my two classmates, Joey Croce and Christina Grieco, to create a grayscale mural of Martin Luther King. We used bold graphic shapes for the face, using different shades of grey to create shadows and highlights. I outlined and painted the text, "Let Freedom Ring", fully free hand. It was an honor to be able to leave a lasting mark in my high school that is able to spread the powerful message of diversity and inclusion.
